This self-titled release was a great introduction point for Cease and Resist and one which shows a lot of promise. Cease and Resist shines a mix of crushing guitar, fast drums, and relevant, inspired lyrics. The production’s really over the top and it works for them. Overly polished but again, it fits the band’s sound. “Pressure” best sums up Cease and Resists overall message on this debut release. The inspired guitar riffs and the Angry and frustrated lyrics along with the driving bass and drums show the bands frustration with the lack of a middle class in todays’ society.

lyrics
TAKE BACK ALL YOUR SHIT -
that you left when I went crazy.
I don't want to see your photographs;
I want you in my past.
Don't you try to pretend now,
that you want to know me -
BITCH, you had your chance. You had your chance.
I double-dog dare you to do it again:
Smile into my face,
while you're stabbing me in the back.
These memories:
they tend to change from time to time.
But, I'm sure I know myself -
and everything is just fine.
Don't forget to take your pills,
and try hard not to drink too much -
or, once again you'll find me
out of touch. I'm out of touch.
